POV (Point of View) shot.

As per the brief, a space around UTS was to be engaged with in the film to frame the way we read the city. As the given technique was a point of view shot, the inhabitants and passerby’s of the city were all considered and then the character of a worker was decided upon. The video was shot at late night, framing the view of an office worker leaving the building after work to their car.
The video mimics gaspers use of darkness so that the view of the eyes remain  focused on the object of their approach. The camera is unsteady and constantly panning towards the ground, mimicking where the eyes go as you descend stairs or reach into your pocket.
The focus of the camera always show the object of approach as well as the physical actions made by the character. Another way that the videos are alike is that they both depict the view of someone with an end goal. Gaspers depicted a man in seek of a washroom to wash his face, this video was of a office worker walking to their car to return home. Both shot in darkness to keep focus and minimise the wandering of audiences eyes. The camera also pans between normal view and the characters hands when they are doing an action.
